Hailing from Kerala and growing up in the scenic town of Alleppey, Toby Joseph picked up the guitar at an early age. He completed his Diploma in Sound Engineering from the School of Audio Engineering - SAE, Chennai and later went on to become a faculty at the institute for two years.

After his brief stint as a teacher, Toby Joseph went on to work as a Sound Engineer; with studios such as Clementine and also with the Film Music Industry, working with the likes of Pravin Mani on the Audio and Film Scores of some noted Tamil movies.

He is also the guitarist of one of Madras’s popular bands – ‘Subject to Change’ &  ‘Pyjama Conspiracy’.

 

In May 2011, Toby Joseph Founded the production house ‘Frame the Sample’, & with his long time friend and Film Editor Amith Krishnan, 'Frame the Sample Sessions' were launched with 5 videos showcasing some amazing independent musicians and bands.

Since 2011, Toby’s career as a freelancer has involved Recording, Co-Producing, Mixing and Mastering several bands and musicians, some of which include: SKRAT, The F16's, Tails on Fire, Franks got the Funk, Yodhakaa, Rainbow Bridge, GreyShack, La Pongal, Benny Dayal, Shakthisree Gopalan, Andrea Jeremiah.

In Feb 2012 Toby Joseph released his first EP titled Spaghetti – which is a collaboration of various Chennai based musicians put together over a span of 2 years.

Apart from his studio life, he is the official sound engineer for 'Benny Dayal' & 'Funktuation' since the year 2012.
